Summary

Field Technician will be capable of performing dedicated aspects related to, but not limited to, the operation, maintenance, data collection, basic troubleshooting and associated record keeping of all Red Light Camera (RLC) systems in multiple cities and municipalities in Ontario.

Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)

The Field Technician will also be responsible for ensuring all work is carried out in a safe efficient and produc­tive manner in compliance with the Company Health and Safety regulations and to the satisfaction of our clients and JENOPTIK Robot GmbH senior management with emphasis on compliance with all legal and operational contractual obligations, including but not limited to, data collection and associated maintenance requirements.

The candidate must be hard working and self-motivated with high personal ethics.

Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring the timely collection, accurate documentation and timely secure weekly delivery of data to the Joint Processing Centre including:

  • Routine weekly data collection and deliveries as per data collection schedules following all procedures effectively

Responsible for ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of all Smart Mobility Solutions-owned operations equipment including;

  • Perform basic troubleshooting of various mechanical and electronic components in the field,
  • Perform basic mechanical work of assembling and installing equipment components in the field,
  • Install, tune and maintain digital camera systems in pole cabinets in the field,
  • File site maintenance reports using Quick Base Phone App
  • Possess basic electrical (120v), electronics and computer skills for configurations and trouble-shooting
  • Possess good communication skills in English
  • Have basic Office Software computer skills
  • Ability to work independently, responsibly, and safely
  • Ability to solve problems in the field independently, with judgment to seek help when needed
  • Must be able to work in a structured, transparent and auditable manner, prioritize, comply with processes and quality checklists
  • Be willing to travel for technical training or filling in when needed as requested
  • Effectively prioritize, plan and manage time
  • Adhere to various safety regulations
  • Adhere to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Provide support for other programs when required
  • Perform all duties delegated by the Program Manager
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 1-3 years’ experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic components, power and connectivity wiring, computer hardware, etc.
  • Experience in the field of Photography in general and Digital Photography in particular would be an asset
  • General knowledge with Windows operating systems and Office applications, in particular Microsoft word, Excel and e-mail
  • Maintain a good driving record and must be willing to drive/operate large vehicles (including bucket truck and small crane truck) **Please note driving assessment test is required before job offer**
  • Ambitious and hard working with a clean driver’s license
  • Clean police record (criminal background check required)
  • Canadian Citizenship or Qualified Canadian Worker
