Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Logistics Supervisor, the Inbound Logistics Coordinator is responsible for executing and monitoring all freight unit movements between warehouses and Dollarama’s distribution center.

They will also carry out daily tasks assigned by their supervisor, such as monitoring transportation movements, consolidating/verifying/analyzing data, reporting and resolving issues, etc.

Key Accountabilities

  • Monitor and control the movement of Dollarama trailers (yard management) between various buildings (from warehouses to the distribution center or between warehouses) and all movements within each yard.
  • Perform all entry operations activities at Dollarama’s Warehouse 6 (2555 Alphonse-Gariépy Street). This includes arrivals and departures, updating night shift inventory (security guard procedures manual); completing all necessary reports and communications for operations; coordinating maintenance (including snow removal); coordinating maintenance for the Yeti and the scale.
  • Coordinate the inspection, maintenance, and inventory of Dollarama trailers.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders (yard switch operators, Dollarama warehouses, distribution center, etc.) to ensure that trailers arrive in adequate numbers and at an appropriate pace, and to the correct destinations (based on DC and warehouse needs).
  • Monitor and control performance indicators (e.g., transport time between the DC and warehouses, transfers per hour, equipment movements per hour).
  • Resolve issues quickly, accurately, and appropriately (e.g., damaged equipment to be replaced, communication with yard dispatchers, service level issues), and escalate to the next management level if necessary.
  • Provide support for yard activities when needed.
  • Follow up with warehouses regarding any identified issues.
  • Issue dispositions for all empty CP containers reported by warehouses according to short-haul transportation directives.
  • Ensure system information is always up to date and accurate.
  • Follow standardized operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Complete various reports as needed.

Job Requirements

  • College diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good computer skills, especially with Excel and email (SAP is an asset).
  • Experience in the retail industry or in supply chain logistics is an asset.
