Day Shift | Full-Time

We are urgently seeking a reliable and safety-focused Special Projects Handyman to support immediate maintenance and repair needs at our Mississauga garage. This is a high-priority role that plays a vital part in ensuring the maintenance, functionality, and professional appearance of our facilities.

This position is responsible for carrying out small-scale projects such as painting, surface restoration, and minor repairs, while also supporting general facility upkeep.

This role is ideal for a motivated and autonomous individual who can follow instructions while meeting project timelines. The duties involve exposure to solvents, paints, adhesives, and other maintenance-related chemicals, requiring strict adherence to health and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform interior and exterior painting, including surface preparation, taping, sanding, and finishing work
  • Carry out minor repairs (e.g., drywall patching, light carpentry, fixture replacement)
  • Handle cleaning products, solvents, paints, and adhesives safely in accordance with WHMIS and internal policies
  • Support preventative maintenance inspections and facility upkeep
  • Comply with all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Assist with material handling, organizing supplies, and other general manual labor tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • Experience in general repairs, painting, or handyman services
  • Proficient with hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of WHMIS regulations and safe handling practices for chemical products
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in various conditions (dust, fumes, indoor/outdoor)
  • A valid driver’s license is considered an asset

Health & Safety Requirements:

  • This role involves regular exposure to paint fumes, cleaning agents, and other chemical substances
  • Proper PPE and ventilation controls are provided and must be used as directed
  • All tasks must be carried out in accordance with Coach Canada’s safety procedures and federal health and safety regulations
