Reporting to the Bakery Specialist and Assigned Store Manager, the Bakery Department Head Trainee (DHT) will undergo an intensive training program for the purpose of familiarizing with the operation know-how, department daily routines, management development techniques, and learn how to run a department with profit and loss accountabilities. Upon satisfactory completion of the DHT Program, the trainees will then assume DH responsibilities based on their assessment results and will be responsible to deliver DH duties and responsibilities. T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 31 stores across the country: 13 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 10 in Ontario, and 1 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.
- Learn to manage and supervise daily operation of department
- Learn to manage department performance and attain departmental goals
- Learn to conduct quality and inventory control, responsible for the cleanliness, hygiene, equipment, and tools maintenance follow up and
- Learn to provide guidance and supervision to all staff, ensure fair distribution of work and daily checklists are strictly executed
- Provide coaching, on-the-job training, shadowing, guidance, and supervision to department staff
- Greet customers by providing good customer service with smile, friendly enthusiasm
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior
- Possess 5 years and/or above relevant experience in retail industry, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience preferred
- Possess knowledge in workplace health & safety
- Relevant experience and Bakery product knowledge, display, promotion and packaging techniques preferred
- Have a good understanding of tools & equipment relevant to the job and know how to interpret labels of merchandises
- Good organization and problem-solving skills
- Good people management skills and able to train staff
- Good communication skills
- Possess great interpersonal and customer service skills
- Possess good computer skills in MS Office
- Flexible to work in shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evening hours and statutory holidays
