Job Description

As a Test Specialist in the Network Services Platform team, you will work as a part of a scrum team which develops features in Data Collection and Analyses Management through OAM test functions. In addition to testing latest implementations, you will continuously analyze the existing functionality, identify areas to improve, and propose test strategies and solutions that lead to architecture changes, optimizations, scale/ performance improvements and continued quality of the product according to the highest quality standards.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

  • Working in team-based Agile Environment
  • Collaboration with Product Managers and Architects to define feature requirements and solutions
  • Development of Test Strategies, Test Plans, and Test Cases
  • Development of automated tests in JavaScript and other scripting languages.
  • Proficiency at configuring IP networks based on Nokia Service Routers and routers from other major vendors
  • Collaboration with other scrum teams, and System test teams to provide system level/solution strategies and exercise test scenarios based on the feedback and analysis from other Nokia business units (regional, professional services, sales) and customer deployments
  • Interacting with Nokia Support Teams to validate software solutions to field-reported issues

Key Skills And Experience

You have:

  • Degree in Software, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Experience in designing, creating, executing and troubleshooting both application specific and system test cases, automated test cases, scripts, and test setups.
  • Strong programming skills. Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. JavaScript, Python)
  • Experience with automation frameworks
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g. GIT, CVS)
  • Experience with virtualization, containerization and orchestration (OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm)
  • Experience working with Linux
  • Knowledge in Cloud Native principles
  • Strong understanding of network management concepts and networking and routing protocols. Knowledge of IP/MPLS networking, familiarity with networking concepts, protocols (e.g. OSPF, BGP) and deployments (e.g. IP VPN, VPLS)
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies and best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • Desire to continuously learn new technologies
  • Proficient in exploring, evaluating and integrating new technologies
  • Excellent at collaborating with cross-functional teams with a customer focus attitude
  • Ability to work independently in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

It would be nice if you had:

  • Knowledge of Web based technologies
  • Database knowledge (e.g. Postgres, Neo4j, Vertica)
  • Experience in customer documentation validation
  • Familiarity with REST API testing
