Job Description

Some of what you will do:

The Sr. Manager, Signage + Visual Merchandising is responsible for leading the signage strategy and execution to drive brand loyalty and sales by presenting an outstanding store environment and customer experience through visual and signage presentation. This role will be responsible to provide leadership on all aspects of instore signage including the creation, production and communication to ensure successful implementation and maintenance of the Staples Brand. This role will ensure the brand is represented through the overall appearance and that the visual presentation meets the established standards. As a key contributor to the business, this role will work cross functionally across the various departments within the organization to achieve sales and margin goals. The Sr. Manager will develop and execute assortment, promotions, and marketing tactics that develop a compelling visual strategy.

Specifically, You Will

  • Develop Staples Canada’s strategy and approach for visual merchandising standards and signage.
  • Lead the development and implementation of visual merchandising and signage management processes, systems and tools.
  • Recommend and develop new ideas and concepts with merchandising teams for product presentation. Lead change and adapt to evolving customer needs and the connected customer experience.
  • Responsible for concept development of visual merchandising solutions, standards and signage to accommodate for unique sizes and layouts of stores.
  • Analyze market trends and company results for the product assortment to ensure placement of visual standards that will elevate brand image by implementing consumer centric visual standards.
  • Work in partnership with Merchandising and the Merchandise planning team on seeking trends and insights about their categories and assortments, driving a differentiated presence for Staples.

Some Of What You Need

  • Post secondary degree/diploma with a focus on retail management and visual merchandising.
  • Must have the ability to work with Creative Suite Design Programs.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for retailing and entrepreneurial work environment.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Visual talent, an eye for and a keen, innate understanding of brand, product, lifestyle and consumer. while also being both current and visionary.
  • A strong understanding of business needs and trends along with a track record of successfully managing a budget and adhering to financial guidelines.
  • Ability to develop working knowledge of brand identity and aesthetics, with an extraordinary attention to detail.
  • 8-10 years of related experience with strong design background including concept development and production.
