Job Summary:

Rakuten Rewards is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join our rapidly growing Productivity Engineering (PE) organization. The PE team at Rakuten Rewards is dedicated to delivering efficient, reliable, and high-quality outcomes, empowering autonomous product development teams (Tribes & Squads) to achieve their goals. As a member of the service delivery team, you will collaborate with engineering colleagues to build, test, and maintain our next generation of web microsites and backend microservices hosted on AWS cloud. You will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining both automation and manual test suites, contributing to the robustness and reliability of our technology stack.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain test suites, automated test scripts for mobile and web applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand application requirements and design effective test strategies.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve the quality and reliability of the mobile codebase.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in quality assurance and automation.
  • Incorporate DevOps and Quality practices into testing processes, ensuring seamless integration and deployment of applications

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in software testing for mobile and web applications.
  • Proven experience in functional, regression and cross-browser testing.
  • Proficient in overseeing the entire testing process from data validation to front-end verification, utilizing a combination of SQL, manual testing, and automation testing techniques.
  • Ability to conduct test analysis and verify quality requirements.
  • Proven experience working with AWS services, including EC2, S3, EKS, RDS, MSK etc.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks for web and mobile such as Selenium, Appium, or similar
  • Experience with testing platforms such as TestRails, BrowserStack or similar

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. or M.S in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in quality assurance, with a focus on automation and performance testing.
