Position Description
This is a great opportunity to join our CGI team in Halifax providing leading IT services to our clients. We are seeking a Senior Solution/Technical Architect who has prior experience working in mid-large sized organizations providing technical solutions in a complex environment. The successful candidate will ideally have a strong architecture background and prior experience working in the Public Sector, but it is not mandatory.
The resource will be expected to design and prepare various data and solution architecture artifacts in consultation with the project teams and client’s Information Services (IS) group. The resource will also be required to present and defend designs and specifications with client’s internal architecture review committee.
Your future duties and responsibilities
The Technical Architect will work under the guidance of multiple project managers, in coordination with the project team members and the IS Group. Leveraging their extensive experience in IT, the resource will be required to design and document data and solution architectures for multiple new technologies being implemented in the client environment.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Leveraging their extensive experience in IT, the resource will be required to design and document data and solution architectures for multiple new technologies being implemented in the client environment.
The following are key responsibilities of the resource:
- Collaborate with the project teams to understand technical requirements.
- Liaise with the IS Group to understand current state setup of each system and client’s overall Enterprise Architecture.
- Design and document future state data and solution architecture artifacts and technical specifications.
- Present and defend future state designs and specifications with client’s architecture review committee.
- Facilitate the awareness and approvals of technical artifacts with business unit leaders.
- 10 or more years working in the IT industry.
- Minimum demonstrated experience of five (5) years as a technical architect, solution architect or enterprise architect.
- Strong technical acumen - solid understanding of networked systems, security infrastructure, data architecture, solution architecture and backend supporting processes.
- Knowledge of Azure Data Centre management and administration.
- Experience facilitating meetings to solicit information from stakeholders.
- Prior experience with Public Sector and/or Water Utility domain.
- Knowledgeable in TOGAF.
- Experience producing and presenting architecture deliverables (descriptions, specs, diagrams, etc.) during project lifecycle, both Agile and Waterfall.
- Experience integrating systems (processes and data).
- Experience contributing to RFPs and evaluations.
