What You Will Do

  • Support SMS Investigations, assisting Safety Officers with collecting information and coordinating meetings for investigation and root cause analysis
  • Prepare and distribute monthly safety reports and safety goals to management
  • Coordinate Safety Action Group meetings, scheduling, preparing and distributing meeting agendas, and other related communication materials
  • Participate on company’s Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Program, with meeting preparation and materials, raising safety issues & concerns as well as recommending areas of improvement to support the business
  • Monitor updates to regulations and advise SMS Manager and support actioning of changes
  • Support OH&S Committee ensuring open items are actioned in a timely manner including liaising with the Executive Assistant on facilities matters
  • Support SMS Manager with audit requirements (i.e. Argus Pro, Contrail, ISBAO, TC, etc,)
  • Participate in the company’s emergency response program by collecting and managing information as required

What You Bring

  • Post-secondary education in Aviation Safety, Aviation Management and/or Business
  • Strong working knowledge of Transport Canada requirements for safety management systems
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience supporting the development, implementation and promotion of quality management, quality assurance and risk management programs
  • Experience conducting safety investigations is an asset
  • Demonstrated skills using predictive analytics to improve safety and efficiency
  • Effective communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal
  • Solid judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational, planning & attention to detail
  • Flexible, positive, and adaptable in a fast paced, dynamic environment
