ELITS is now looking a highly motivated individual for a Radio Integration & Verification Engineer role, to join our operations in Ottawa.

You will:

  • Participate in baseband node-level design, verification, and integration activities for new multi-standard radios supporting 5G (fifth-generation), 4G (Long Term Evolution), 3G (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access), and 2G (Global System for Mobile Communications) technologies.
  • Lead node integration activities for the Ottawa site, coordinating with other locations and stakeholders.
  • Plan, develop, and execute test cases.
  • Formally document test plans and test results.
  • Help maintain and enhance the hardware development laboratory environment.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the radio verification team.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) physical layer verification and/or conformance testing.
  • Experience with Moshell (network management command line interface).
  • Understanding of mapping Network Configuration Protocol (Netconf) and LAZY Configuration Variables for node configurations.
  • Familiarity with various test models and test vectors, and their use in node integration mapping.
  • Knowledge of baseband Digital Unit (DU), including evolved Node B (eNode-B) and evolved Node G (eNode-G).
  • Understanding of Cloud Radio Access Network (Cloud RAN) setup.
  • Experience with radio frequency (RF) verification and test equipment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking.
  • Experience with antenna pattern testing or other over-the-air testing is considered an asset.

Key qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • 3-5 years of experience in radio performance verification for 5G, Long Term Evolution, Wideband Code Division Multiple Access, and/or Global System for Mobile Communications technologies.
  • Solid knowledge of 3GPP physical layer performance and conformance test standards.
  • Strong understanding of communications theory and wireless systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of RF test instruments (Agilent, Rohde & Schwarz, Anritsu).
