As an organization aiming to achieve its bold inorganic growth strategy, we are seeking a Senior Manager to join the Integration Management Office as part of the Corporate Strategy team. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Strategy, the successful candidate will join Definity’s IMO that is facilitating and guiding post-merger integration activities for the recently announced acquisition to help Definity achieve its strategic objectives. The Senior Manager will partner with multiple business lines to assist them on integration planning and execution activities. The Senior Manager is expected to use their prior post-merger integration experience, to plan and execute M&A integrations on behalf of those business lines. This is a 12-month contract role with opportunity for extension and is an individual contributor role.
Location: Toronto or Waterloo (Hybrid)

What can you expect in this role?
- Join Definity’s IMO and be part of a unique opportunity to be part of a transformational integration journey vis-à-vis the recently announced acquisition
- Ma[HS1] nage M&A post-merger integrations for multiple workstreams, each aligned to a business line, and ensure effective execution and delivery by:
- Deeply learning the business and operations of business line(s) to become the expert in that area for the Integration Management Office
- Developing and managing detailed integration execution plans to facilitate a timely & successful integration
- Facilitating alignment sessions to validate integration plans within the workstream and across other functions
- Analyzing current operational processes and systems, designing integrated operating states, and driving the integration of these processes and systems to improve overall efficiency
- Identifying synergies to support the strategic rationale of the acquisition and driving the realization of these synergies
- Supporting change management activities to effect cultural integration
- Mitigating integration risks and resolving issues
- Facilitate workshops with broad range of functional stakeholders and identify cross-functional post-merger integration issues, dependencies, and risks for resolution
- Directly engage with executives and functional leaders across the organization, and present and report strategies and post-merger program updates
- Opportunity to deepen industry knowledge and build expertise in the financial services sector, which is undergoing significant disruption

- 7+ years of progressively senior experience gained either:
- in an M&A post-merger integration or value creation team at a Manager (or higher) level at a top tier management consulting firm, or
- managed post-merger integration efforts as part of business operations or business line at a financial services company
- Experience managing post-merger integration workstreams as part of an Integration Management Office
- Demonstrated success in delivering and executing in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment
- Undergraduate degree at a leading university, with high proven achievement
- Expert proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required; working knowledge of MS Visio and MS Project is an added asset
- Insurance industry experience is preferred but not necessary
- Ability to perform under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple, conflicting priorities
- Strong relationship building skills and a team player: demonstrated ability to collaborate with others to achieve results
- Strong business acumen, with demonstrated aptitude for strategic, analytical, and critical thinking
- A high degree of personal ethics, integrity, and responsibility with an ability to deal with sensitive issues and safeguard confidential information.
