Job Title: Director, Data Strategy & Analytics

Reports to: VP, Data Analytics & Governance

Status: Full Time, Permanent

Division: Enercare Home and Commercial Services

Location: Markham

Summary

The Director, Data Strategy and Analyticsis responsible for the oversight and development of KPIs, business intelligence, analytics and insights supporting Sales, Customer and Field operations across Enercare. Partnering with the various lines of business, the Director of Reporting and Analytics will provide leadership and guidance to understand the business problems, gather requirements and leverage the data to develop the appropriate dashboards, KPIs and analytics to drive value.

The role will also be responsible for partnering with the IT organization to evolve a long-term business data intelligence practice built on a scalable enterprise Data Platform and enable increased self serve reporting and analytics functionality. Proficiency in Data Governance and AI/ML are integral to driving insights for the business.

This role is critical in continuously evolving the enterprise data strategy across the organization and developing new strategies to leverage data to support business decisions and define value adding opportunities for the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse team of data analytics resources and analytics developers to deliver quality analysis, interpretation of findings and clear articulation of results and insights to internal business stakeholder partners.
  • Drive the design, development, and deployment of new BI analytics, reports, frameworks, and tools, including visual insights, detail reports, dashboards, and AI/ML insights.
  • Support new technology implementation with ongoing data management and system administration needsincluding collaboration on Data Governance and AI/ML.
  • Partner with Client Account and Business Leads to understand the data and analytics requirements.
  • Develop the data visualization and user experience guidelines to ensure the Business Analytics reports and dashboards are presented in a meaningful and accessible manner that allows the user to easily understand and interpret the data.
  • Develop the Business Analytics performance measurement standard to track the ongoing adoption and use of the reports and dashboards.
  • Partner with IT support to ensure the continuous enhancement and development of Business analytics tools and platforms.
  • Track, document, and prioritize requests for Analytic Support from various Business Units Leads team in developing tools, dashboards, and processes to manage programs (Corporate KPI Reporting, Data Governance, etc.)

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience building and delivering data analytics for a significant, high-profile organization of a similar size to Enercare.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and nurture teams that deliver data analytics that consistently exceed expectations.
  • 5+ years management experience required with demonstrated success building, developing, and leading high performing teams and building successful relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud data platforms (Azure + Fabric preferred, AWS, GCP, Databricks or Snowflake) and/ or relational databases (Azure SQL Server preferred, Oracle Teradata).
  • 10+ years of experience in Analytics & Reporting, preferably in the B2C space
  • Possess sound business acumen with the ability to identify core business objectives, synthesize and interpret disparate quantitative information, develop meaningful insights, and clearly communicate to key stakeholders.
  • Proven experience taking initiative and driving teams to deliver effective results.
  • Experience with Python, R, ML algorithms, Gen AI and/or another statistical language.
  • Experience managing Data Governance with Purview, Collibra or similar capability a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative marketing, data mining, statistics, mathematics, economics, or related quantitative field, required. Master’s degree in Analytics or Engineering preferred.
