Kardium’s mission is to deliver the best treatment for atrial fibrillation. To achieve this, we have developed The Globe Pulsed Field System – we have a fantastic technical team that has developed a product with strong, unique, and customer-valued differentiators versus other solutions on the market. We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story.

We have now completed our pivotal clinical study and our focus is on regulatory approvals and commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients.

Reporting to the VP Talent, the Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and delivering the internal communications strategy and content that aligns with Kardium’s growth and culture.

Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Meaningful work you will be a part of

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Develop and deliver internal communication strategies and campaign content that build awareness, alignment, and excitement across the company.
  • Craft compelling communications—from company-wide announcements to hiring brand materials—across multiple channels, including Teams, email, intranet, and social media.
  • Lead the development and management of the company intranet as a central hub for employee resources, announcements, and engagement.
  • Design and roll out an engaging, scalable employee recognition program that celebrates contributions and reinforces Kardium’s culture and values.
  • Coordinate and support the launch of internal programs and talent initiatives with clear communication plans, talk tracks, and launch materials.
  • Manage communication calendars, cross-functional deliverables, and publishing schedules to ensure alignment and impact.
  • Plan and execute key company events, including Company meetings, Ask me Anything, and virtual community-building activities.
  • Support Kardium’s employer brand reputation by contributing to award submissions and recognition campaigns that position us as a top employer.
  • Track and report on communications and program effectiveness, using feedback and metrics to guide continuous improvement.

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:

  • A degree or diploma in Communications, Marketing, Human Resources, Business, or a related field—or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, HR programs, or related areas within a fast-paced or growth-oriented organization.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences and platforms.
  • Experience managing communication tools and channels (e.g., Teams, intranets, email platforms) and coordinating content calendars.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong working relationships across teams and levels.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with excellent project coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Creative thinking and a passion for building programs and communications that enhance employee experience.
  • Experience with event planning, employer branding, or recognition programs is a strong asset.

Compensation

Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.

As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.

  • $90,000-110,000 (CAD Annually)
