We’re currently working with one of our trusted engineering consulting clients to find a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their growing Ottawa team. This is a full-time, onsite position, suited for someone who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative office setting and is looking to deepen their project leadership experience.

What you’d be doing in this role
Responsibilities
This is a key senior-level role for someone with 10+ years of experience. You’ll take ownership of complex projects and lead electrical portions of multidisciplinary projects, with responsibilities including:
- Designing and analyzing building electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, data/communications, etc.).
- Performing electrical load calculations, system analysis, and equipment selection.
- Coordinating with architects, mechanical, structural, and other disciplines.
- Applying building codes, Canadian Electrical Code, and standards appropriately to design and documentation.
- Creating technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Integrating sustainability and energy efficiency into your designs.
- Taking part in project planning, budgeting, and client meetings.
- Representing the firm in meetings and managing project teams.
- Mentoring junior and intermediate engineers as needed.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
- P.Eng. designation (licensed in Ontario).
- 10+ years of relevant experience in building systems electrical design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Excel, Adobe PDF, and electrical engineering tools (such as ETAP, SKM PowerTools, etc.).
- Solid understanding of building codes, Canadian Electrical Code, and engineering best practices.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- The ability to take initiative and manage multiple moving parts.
