Job Summary
Work Term: Fall 2026 (September - December)
The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is seeking to hire students who are looking for a Co-op or internship placement opportunity from September 2026 to December 2026.
Eligibility: We will only be considering applicants enrolled in an accredited Co-op or Internship program in line with their program requirements from their post-secondary academic institution.

Summary Of Functions

- Monitor the progress of recruitment processes and maintaining contact with applicants via email and telephone, to schedule interviews, other assessments and share/obtain information;
- Administer psychological/written tests;
- Prepare and/or format documents such as letters of offer, transmittal slips, staffing transaction reports, assessment material, result letters and other correspondence;
- Enter and update information in the Human Resources Management System and SharePoint;
- Prepare requisitions for various internal services;
- Maintain hardcopy/electronic files;
- Contribute to a variety of projects, including reviewing and updating procedures, and sharing best practices with team members.
- Contribute to a variety of projects in Performance Management, Talent Management and Succession Planning;
- Enter information and review of Performance Evaluation Reports;
- Assist in the coordination of national programs such as Job Shadowing and Coaching;
- Assist in the planning of events such as executive workshops;
- Help draft documentation to promote various events;
- Prepare documents for staffing executives’ positions for Management’s approval and dissemination.
- Support the Classification team in the conduct of work reviews, relativity studies, position management and organizational design;
- Organize, prioritize and process administrative requests such as data entry and monthly reporting;
- Investigate requirements or issues associated to positions and/or structures by researching historical information and classification decisions;
- Respond to client inquiries in line with classification principles and best practices;
- Maintain and update classification documentation, organizational charts, databases and files.
- Coordinate Labour Relations (LR) activities by applying recognized methodologies and ensuring compliance with LR principles;
- Conduct research (e.g. jurisprudence, internal precedents) as assigned by staff;
- Maintain and update LR documentation, databases and files;
- Prepare accompanying materials for briefing notes, discipline committee documentation, and grievances responses;
- Provide input and assistance in preparing training material on LR topics.
Special consideration may be given to those with a proficiency in both official languages of Canada for the Ottawa region.
Education
Registered full-time in one of the following academic paths and years at the time of placement:
- College Diploma student in their 3 rd year;
- Undergraduate degree student in their 3rd year or higher;
- Graduate-level student (Master’s or Ph.D.)

- Labour or Industrial Relations
- Business Administration
- Commerce (with a specialization in human resources)
- Bachelor of Arts (related to human resources studies)
Experience
Candidates with the following experience are preferable:
Experience may have been acquired through formal and informal settings (e.g. school, volunteer work experience or projects)
