As a Sustainability Advisor, you’ll make an impact by guiding Fortune 500 companies as they advance toward net zero. With deep expertise in GHG emissions and leading ESG platforms, you’ll shape how organizations collect data, calculate emissions, and drive measurable reductions across global supply chains. You’ll encourage ESG teams to make informed decisions, improve reporting processes, and unlock new value through climate innovation. By flawlessly aligning climate strategy with ground breaking technology, you’ll embed climate action into core operations—creating lasting environmental and business impact. You will be a valued member of our IoT Sustainability practice and work collaboratively with our North America Sustainability Team.

In this role, you will
- Act as the GHG emissions subject matter expert on digital ESG transformation projects for large enterprise companies.
- Guide client teams in collecting transparent, traceable environmental data for accurate emissions estimates across Scopes 1, 2, and 3.
- Recommend standard methodologies for ESG data traceability, integrity, and compliance with emerging regulatory standards (e.g., CSRD, EUDR, California SB 261/253).
- Analyze client operations and identify strategic emissions reduction opportunities and net-zero pathways.
- Lead all aspects of workshops and collaborator discussions across ESG, operations, and technology teams.
- Partner with ESG software providers to integrate fit-for-purpose technology solutions.
- Contribute to the development of proprietary tools, accelerators, and frameworks that advance Cognizant’s market position in ESG and GHG strategy.
- Coordinate collaboratively with internal business development and sales teams to shape value propositions and pursue new opportunities.
- Encourage senior collaborators and support strategic decision making through persuasive insights and organized results.
- A proven track record of 5 or more years of professional experience in sustainability, carbon accounting, or environmental consulting, with a focus on GHG emissions estimation and reduction strategies.
- Proficiency in estimating emissions in scopes 1–3 using the GHG Protocol, ideally within globally distributed food and agriculture supply chains.
- Detailed understanding of FLAG emissions modeling and sector-specific challenges in agriculture and food production.
- Outstanding knowledge of ESG data platforms such as Salesforce Net Zero Cloud, IBM Envizi, Watershed, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with global ESG frameworks and standards: GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, and CSRD.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
- Proven success partnering with clients to align sustainability strategy with digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills; able to influence collaborators from operations to the C-suite.
- Top-tier analytical approach and ability to translate data into business insights and sustainability outcomes.
- Flexibility for up to 15% of travel depending on client engagements.
