Class 1FM Driver - #447169

Our Sainte-Catherine, QC, site is currently seeking a Class 1FM Driver (permanent, full-time).

The driver/operator is responsible for equipment operation and hazardous waste transportation (trailer and semi-trailer / container truck / pump tanker).

You will perform various tasks in hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment and facility decontamination, and emergency response.

• Ensure health and safety are the number one objective by adhering to policies and procedures and operating safely at all times.
• Ensure the proper loading and unloading of hazardous/non-hazardous waste (i.e., ensuring drums are properly segregated and loaded, etc.); adhere to load limits and ensure the proper use of company equipment.
• Responsible for maintaining daily logs, worksheets, timesheets, expense reports, mileage reports, and vehicle inspection reports.
• Adhere to assigned pickup and delivery schedules.
• Communicate regularly with coordinators regarding daily schedules and any setbacks.
• Present a professional image (by wearing company-issued uniforms and ID badges as required by company policy) and demonstrate courteous behavior with internal and external customers.
• Maintain and clean the Company's equipment assigned to you and ensure that it is in satisfactory mechanical condition and in good working order.
• Perform other duties and tasks as periodically assigned by management and as required by Clean Harbors' business.
• Possess a Class 1 license (with FM endorsement) Previous driving experience with a trailer and semi-trailer / container truck / pump tanker truck.
• A clean driving record for the past 5 years. Driving record (SAAQ) is required.
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds
• Able to climb and work at least 2 feet above the ground
• Able to wear personal protective equipment, including respirators and coveralls
• Must have 8-inch work boots
• A high school diploma is preferred
• Be ready and willing to work
• Possess basic knowledge of spoken/written English and French.
