Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced R&D Manager to join our dynamic team. As a R&D Manager on our team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering complex technical epics from inception to completion, ensuring they are executed efficiently, within scope, and meet quality standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the successful delivery of epics, managing timelines, resources, and risks effectively.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

Manage a variety of network automation projects, including custom software development epics and other network management related engagements. You will lead, mentor and help your scrum team(s) to:

  • Plan the execution, and delivery of multiple technical epics simultaneously, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Develop detailed plans, timelines, and milestones, and track progress against deliverables.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, design, quality assurance, and other stakeholders, to define requirements, scope, and priorities.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks proactively, ensuring timely resolution to keep projects on track.
  • Communicate status, issues, and updates effectively to stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
  • Evolve the product’s architecture and applications to be cloud-native.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance R&D practices, tools, and methodologies.

Key Skills And Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Understanding of Networking and Network Management.
  • Proven experience as a R&D Manager or similar role, leading complex technical projects from conception to delivery.
  • Understanding of development and testing of cloud-native micro-services.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, Helm)
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, Agile practices, and project management principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, attentive to details with a results-driven mindset.
  • SAFe Agile and Scrum implementations within an organization is a plus.
