The location in Port Alberni , British Columbia , Canada , is seeking talent to fill the position of Maintenance Manager . This job is full-time permanent .

The Maintenance Manager facilitates the overall maintenance function of the Port Alberni Mill (Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation). Sustaining the level of preservation of the mill and its equipment is a prime goal for this position, focusing on ensuring the level of reliability required to attain plan production levels while containing costs through most effectively applying maintenance resources

Develop, implement and execute maintenance and maintenance related activities in the Mill.

  • Participates in the recruitment of trades personnel, assesses job performance for reporting supervisors, and assists in training and development of same.
  • Develops departmental budgets, prioritizes spending, and advises senior management on cost over-runs and extraordinary equipment requisitions.
  • Ensures conformance to the Standard Labour Contract and Company policies.
  • Directs Maintenance Supervisors and tradesmen in implementation of the Mill safety programs and environmental policies.
  • Liaises as required with union representatives to settle grievances and deal with contracting out issues. Sits on the Standing Committee, Apprenticeship Selection Committee, and Liaison Committee.
  • Collaborate in the development of a knowledge sharing network with peers in other mills.

Salary $150,000 - $170,000 per annum (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity).
