The location in Port Alberni, BC , is seeking talent to fill the position of Red Seal Electrician. This job is permanent and full-time..

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production related equipment to ensure proper and safe operation of all production systems.
  • Install new electrical control systems and maintain existing control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machines in an industrial setting, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Design, layout, program and calibrate new equipment and installations.

  • Dedicated to safety, proactive support of efforts to create a culture of safety excellence.
  • Effective communicator to other departments.
  • Utilize the Maintenance Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Commitment to working within and creating a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Team player who can work as part of a team or in an independent setting.
  • Computer skills and assets.
  • Respond to production calls during downtime.
  • Communicate updates to supervisor to maintain goals.

Required Professional Experience/Qualifications:

  • Red Seal certification.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in related industrial environment.
  • An uncompromising approach to safety.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Available for mill 12 hour operational shift schedules.

Salary rate: $48.66 per hour as per the Collective Agreement.
