Role accountabilities:
As a Senior Acoustics Engineer, you will bring your experience, and specialized skill sets in providing technical solutions for a variety of projects. This role is focused on architectural acoustics, where you will grow a practice area through training and mentoring staff, and developing internal relationships within Arcadis to effectively collaborate with teams across a wide variety of business sectors. In this role, you will be working side-by-side with architects, and other building specialists, to achieve seamless solutions for our clients.

The salary range for this position is $95,000-178,000 . The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.

Role responsibilities:
- Collaborating with project managers and architects from scoping, through all stages of project execution.
- Training and mentoring staff on architectural acoustics and developing standard operating procedures for the practice area.
- Producing high quality, thoughtful analysis using commercially available software packages and in-house tools.
- Conducting field measurements and inspections at commercial, residential, institutional, and construction sites.
- Liaising and communicating with clients and other stakeholders; contributing to the regional and market strategies for developing and growing architectural acoustic services.
- Engaging in business development and client engagement, as appropriate including the preparation of proposals.
Strong interpersonal, communication and written skills are essential for this role, along with a strong knowledge of architectural acoustics. Arcadis is seeking a candidate with:
- Demonstrated knowledge in key areas of acoustics such as:
- Building code requirements and applicable metrics (e.g. STC, NC, etc.).
- Modelling software (e.g., Odeon, INSUL, Cadna/A, etc.).
- Experience with sound level and vibration measurements.
- Ability to interpret architectural/mechanical/electrical drawings and specifications.
- Experience working collaboratively with clients to develop solutions that within the context of the project.
- Strong computer aptitude and programming skills.
The Senior Acoustics Engineer will have 10+ years consulting experience in the field of architectural acoustics, and:
- P.Eng. (Professional Engineer)
- Valid driver’s license
