Position Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the direct manager, Financial Accounting, this position is responsible for daily treasury tasks as set out below and other treasury related administrative duties. The Staff Accountant, Treasury ensures adherence to all policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Preparing daily internal transfers and external wires in Cash Management Online
  • Recording journal entries related to daily banking transactions and month-end accruals
  • Verifying daily deposits
  • Uploading EFT and ACH files in Cash Management Online
  • Performing monthly bank reconciliations
  • Updating treasury administrative information as required
  • Preparing daily statements of available cash and ensures that bank accounts are funded
  • Following up with bank and operations on variances
  • Assisting with cash planning requirements using predictive analysis
  • Communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Building strong working relationships with guests and employees
  • Complying with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performing other duties as assigned or directed

Education And Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounting or finance; treasury experience preferred
  • Post-secondary education in accounting/finance or suitable combination of education and experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel skills, including complex formulas
  • Computer literacy in MS Office and JDE or other related accounting software an asset
  • Highly detail-oriented individual, excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to be self-directed and take initiative while working independently and remaining focused on an assignment through to delivery
  • Ability to exceed internal and external expectations through timely, effective, and service-oriented communication
