Overview
Panasonic Canada Inc. is currently looking to hire for the position of Technical Product Manager.
The Technical Product Manager will lead the development and execution of ISD software current and future product roadmap ensuring alignment with business objectives while driving two new major software initiatives while focusing on improving and modernizing existing products. The Technical Product Manager has deep QSR software product expertise. The Technical Product Manager is responsible for planning and making strategic decisions throughout the software product lifecycle, defining the product vision, conducting market research, suggesting new features, prioritizing product and customer requirements. Works closely with engineering teams, sales, customer success and customers.
This is a full-time position.
This position is hybrid. You may be required to travel in this role across North America.

Responsibilities
- Defines product vision and maintains product roadmap in alignment with business goals. Manages and owns product lifecycle activities from concept and market research, to design, development, testing, deployment, roll out, support, and finally product end of life. Authors epics, product, and software requirements documentation for technical initiatives; ensuring that story content and prioritization is aligned to larger strategic goals.
- Drives clarity by providing well defined user stories, acceptance criteria and products specs to the engineering team. Oversees API strategies, system architecture decisions and 3rd party integrations. Collaborates with third-party stakeholders, including vendors, integration partners, and external technology providers, to ensure seamless integrations and strategic alignment.
- Maintains product backlog and ensure continuous prioritization of backlog items after analyzing business needs and functional dependencies with all stakeholders.
- Works closely with engineering teams to help unblock and support in mid-project product decision-making .Works with engineering teams to develop and refine product features through sprint planning, feature demos, and defect triage sessions.
- Provides mentorship, guidance, and direction to the Product Owner to ensure high-quality backlog management. Ensures that product owner effectively gathers requirements and translates business needs into actionable user stories. Fosters collaboration between Product Owner and dev teams to enhance product execution and delivery.
- Defines KPI's to measure product success. Leverages analytics and customer insights to drive product improvements. Continuously assesses and refines product strategy based on data and market feedback.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering and Business Administration, Master’s or MBA is a plus.
- 10+ years of total experience. Minimum 5 years’ experience as a technical product manager for QSR software products.
- Experience modernizing legacy software products to next gen.
- Agile certifications (CSPO, PSPO, CSM)
- Experience delivering Windows, Web, and Mobile apps.
- Experience delivering products with cloud solutions.
- Experience working with Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid development environment.
- Experience using software project management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, SharePoint.
- Experience creating mockups/wireframes.
- Strong technical background, with a solid understanding of software development processes, architecture, and technologies.
- Ability to act as the product owner, providing end to end oversight of product in partnership with internal stakeholders and clients.
- Self-motivated with good analytics capability, excellent hands-on skills and someone that enjoys delivering quality products.
- Team player, approachable, helpful, open-minded, problem solver, accountable, creative, adaptable, shows empathy and gratitude, has conflict resolution skills, has decision making skills, has leadership skills.
- Effective collaboration and communication with peers and subordinates. Clear and effective communication of technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. Communicates and explains concepts to junior team members, with a sensitivity to personal ability and cultural diversity. May from time to time communicate bad news. Provides time to time updates, information, answers and solutions to management proactively and on request.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience working on Point-of-sale systems would be an asset.
- Experience in Quick Service Restaurants domain is a plus.
