Ambyint

Date: 1 week ago
City: Calgary, AB
Contract type: Full time
Ambyint is a SaaS company that provides an Industrial IoT platform, leveraging physics-influenced AI models, plus closed-loop control to enable autonomous operations. As a result, we are an instrumental part of the climate technology evolution and a market leader in production optimization for the energy industry. We deliver step-change improvements to our customers by combining advanced physics, subject matter expertise, and data-informed insights with AI to automate operations and production optimization workflows. We’re coming off a strong year and are setting even higher ambitions for the future. To help us reach the next level, we’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team.

As a DevOps Engineer at Ambyint, you will report to the Senior Cloud Architect and play a vital role in building and refining the cloud infrastructure that powers our artificial lift optimization platform. In this position, you’ll contribute to the development and delivery of scalable, cloud-native systems that help our customers unlock greater efficiency in oil and gas operations.

You’ll help evolve our CI/CD pipelines, support GitOps practices, and work cross-functionally to ensure fast, reliable deployments. Whether you're optimizing Kubernetes clusters, enhancing data pipelines, or diving into infrastructure-as-code, your work will directly support innovation and operational excellence across the product stack.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, values open-source technologies, and is eager to bring ideas to life through experimentation and iteration. If you're ready to take ownership, contribute to a growing platform, and help shape the future of energy optimization in the cloud—we’d love to meet you.

What You'll Do

  • Work independently and collaboratively to deliver performant, reliable infrastructure that supports our cloud-based platform
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and ETL/ELT processes
  • Prioritize open standards and open-source technologies when evaluating infrastructure solutions
  • Partner with software and data science teams to support scalable cloud-based experimentation, analytics, and production systems
  • Contribute to fast-paced innovation cycles through rapid prototyping and iterative feedback
  • Manage and mitigate issues based on compliance and security standards such as SOC2 and CIS standards
  • Live, breathe, and build in the Cloud
  • Embrace Agile ways of working—SCRUM, Kanban—to deliver value quickly and consistently

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of experience supporting full software delivery cycles, from concept to deployment and production support
  • Solid experience with AWS and cloud-native development (AWS certification a plus)
  • Proficient with JavaScript/Node.js and scripting infrastructure-related tasks
  • Hands-on experience with messaging tools like Kafka or RabbitMQ
  • Familiar with both relational and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD practices—experience with GitHub preferred
  • Familiar with GitOps and managing infrastructure as code
  • Experience working with Kubernetes in production environments
  • Comfortable with data pipeline concepts (ETL/ELT) and data warehouse fundamentals
  • Clear grasp of scalability principles and designing for performance
  • Hands-on experience managing infrastructure with Terraform

What Sets You Apart

  • The gratification of a job well done comes from the satisfaction of your ‘customers’.
  • It’s in your nature to be efficient and do it really well, while you always deliver on what you promise.
  • Your strengths come from collaborating with others.
  • You thrive on both technical challenges and the opportunity to develop and empower the people around you.
  • Continuous learning and improvement are part of your mantra.
  • You appreciate feedback and see it as a chance to grow, not a critique.
  • You care about the customer experience and take satisfaction in building user-friendly solutions.
  • You are curious, creative, biased for action, and love solving problems.
  • You don’t assume that you are the best and have the humility to learn from others.
