We are seeking a team player who is proactive, passionate about Health & Safety, and enjoys traveling to join our Atlantic Health & Safety team. This position will be based out of our Moncton branch, reporting to the Regional Health & Safety Manager for Atlantic Canada. The chosen candidate will be responsible for supporting the Atlantic region, including job sites throughout New-Brunswick, PEI, and Newfoundland. Frequent travel will be required.
A Day in the Life
· Manage the safety requirements of operational construction sites and equipment
· Conduct safety inspections of Flynn project sites
· Ensure that subcontractors adhere to required safety standards in accordance with legislation and Flynn policies
· Identify potential risks and safety hazards during a project through involvement throughout the job life cycle (estimate, pre-mobilization, and construction)
· Perform accident and incident investigations
· Maintain a conducive working relationship with all management, superintendents, project managers, and frontline workers, through education, coaching, advising and giving practical on-site application options
· Assist with the communication and implementation of the company’s claims management and return-to-work programs
· Participate in the development and implementation of safety training programs
· Conduct new hire safety orientations and other required training programs as needed
· Write reports and maintain all required documentation
· Attend and facilitate monthly safety committee meetings as required
· Frequent visits to job sites and branches in Atlantic Canada

What We Are Seeking
· Formal education or training in Environmental/Occupational Health and Safety, NCSO, or equivalent experience
· Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a safety role within a construction environment
· Experience working in the ICI construction industry, specifically dealing with Building Envelope is considered an asset
· Experience with injury management an asset
· Bilingual English/French a strong asset
· Knowledge of the COR and/or ISO 45001 is considered a strong asset
· Good knowledge of Construction regulations of Atlantic provinces, and Fall Protection legislation
· Knowledge and practical experience in accident investigation
· Strong ability in using a computer with high proficiency in Windows applications; Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
· Ability to work with minimal supervision
· Team attitude with a willingness to learn
· Willingness to travel
· Valid driver’s license required
