in Calgary that opened in September 2021. Our junior high school currently
serves 450 students in grades 7-9. In 3

Education and Experience

Valid Alberta
Teaching Certificate

Bachelor of Education Degree
or equivalent recognized by Alberta Education

POSITION FOCUS
Under the direction of the principal, the
team lead will provide a range of leadership and support within the school
environment. This position requires a life-long learner who is committed to
working with others to optimize our culture of excellence in core and STEM
education. This position is part of the STEM IA Junior High Leadership Team.
POSITION EXPECTATIONS

Key responsibilities
include:
·
Science Enrichment: The creation and
implementation of enrichment resources including, lesson plans, unit plans,
teaching materials, guest lecturers and off-site activities for the 7-9
curriculum.
·
Provide effective strategic and operational
leadership in STEM IA Jr. High Science team.
·
Provide leadership in highly effective collaborative
teams for both curricular and grade level teams.
·
Provide leadership and mentorship to adults by
modelling strong interpersonal skills in effective collaboration and
communication.
·
Lead the implementation of a curriculum framework
ensuring consistent (both vertical and horizontal) alignment in instruction,
labs/activities, and assessment.
·
Ensure blueprinting of unit assessments and analysis
of data from exams to improve teaching and future exams.
·
Oversee the curriculum budget, (including
instructional resources, lab equipment and supplies, off-site activities, etc.)
·
Participate in the preparation and implementation of
STEM IA charter goals, objectives, and strategies in the 3-year Education Plan.
·
Continually gather and analyze data to inform
instruction and future programming.
·
Support teachers in the implementation of highly
effective teaching strategies in every classroom.
·
Consulting with high school Science team lead to
ensure vertical alignment in instruction and lab skill.

Commitment to infusing technology into core curriculum where appropriate.

Competent in using online
learning support tools
such as MS 365 for Education, Schoology, GradeCam, Edwin, etc.
