Essential staffing requirements
To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements.
Education
A degree from a recognized postsecondary institution.
OR
An acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience may serve as an alternative to a degree from a recognized postsecondary institution.
Experience
Have recent experience* in:
- Experience *providing strategic communications advice and recommendations on complex ** files to senior management***;
- Experience * developing and implementing communications plans or strategies
- Experience* writing a variety of communications products for a public audience or for employees of an organization, such as, but not limited to, news releases, media lines, social media posts, articles, internal communications, and web content;
- Experience * working collaboratively with client or partner to build and maintain relationships in order to achieve common goals.
*Experience is normally associated with the performance of these functions as part of the major job duties accomplished for a period of not less than twenty four (24) cumulative months within the last five (5) years.
**Complex files include characteristics such as the following: multidimensional, sensitive, confidential, impacting several partners or stakeholders or that could yield potential for significant media or employee interest.
*** Senior management is defined as Director level or above, generally two supervisory levels above your position.
Asset staffing requirements
We may use the following asset staffing requirements later on in the process.
- Experience supervising a project team or working group to deliver communications products;
- Experience in using data/research to formulate communications advice or develop communications products;
- Experience in media relations, issues management, crisis communications or other relevant public affairs functions;
- Experience in consultation and stakeholder engagement;
- Experience in evaluating communication tactics and communications products.
