The Administrative Coordinator for the NWT Seniors' Society works with seniors across the NWT to answer their questions. The Coordinator is also responsible for the organization of the NWT Seniors' Society. The position reports to the Executive Director and supports the Executive Director to ensure that seniors issues are forefront in the work that we do.

  • Answer the Seniors Information Line and assist callers.
  • Answer the NWT Seniors’ Society phone and help as needed or pass information on to the Executive Director
  • Organize travel, accommodations and per-diems for board members and other travel
  • Assist with the organization of the Board of Directors meetings and Annual General Meeting
  • Attend Board meetings and the AGM and take minutes.
  • Assist with organizing training and meetings based on need.
  • Update the website monthly.
  • Work with the accounting firm to ensure that they have all monthly bills coded appropriately.
  • Review monthly financial reports for accuracy.
  • Assist with the development of reports for the GNWT and Federal Government.
  • Assist with the development of funding proposals as requested.
  • Organize the signing of cheques with the Executive Director and Board members.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum grade 12 graduate
  • Post-secondary in administration or business would be considered an asset.

Skills Required

  • Strong writing skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Experience with accounts payable and receivables.
  • Experience with government reporting.
