Senior Specialist, Security Controls Governance – PC Financial, Brampton or Toronto (Lakeshore and Bathurst).

We are looking for a collaborative and innovative colleague to be part of our Cyber Security, Privacy and Network (CSPN) team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting second line governance, risk and compliance related requests for President’s Choice Bank. You will assist in development, maintenance, and execution of control assessments, gather evidence and monitor/measure completion trends, track deficiencies and metrics, build automation, co-ordinate reporting and monitoring for controls testing.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the organization's security control framework, mapping controls to relevant standards and regulations.
  • Assist in the execution of security control assessments to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of controls.
  • Document and track remediation plans for identified control deficiencies.
  • Assist in the identification and assessment of security risks related to the organization's systems, processes, and data.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Enterprise security, ORM, Compliance, Legal, Internal Audit and other relevant teams to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of security controls.
  • Support internal and external security assessments and control testing from Line 2 ORM, BCO as well as line 3 Internal audit teams and provide necessary responses and evidence.
  • Co-ordinate monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements with CSPN, ORM, Compliance and other teams to ensure timely delivery of all reports and decks.
  • Identify opportunities to automate control assessments and monitoring activities.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies, standards, and procedures that support the security control framework.

What you Bring:

  • Solid understanding of IT risk, reporting and control frameworks (e.g., NIST v2.0, ISO 27001/2, ISF SOGP) typically gained by having a professional certification and/or related experience
  • Experience with security control frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, ISF or SOC 2.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies, vulnerability assessments and security auditing.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian banking industry and Canadian regulations (e.g.- OSFI B-13).
  • Demonstrated deep technical written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideas in a clear and concise manner while tailoring your messaging for varying audiences
  • Project management skills are an asset.
