GFL Environmental is hiring Heavy Equipment Technicians to maintain and repair diesel and alternative-fuel trucks and equipment in Fort St. John, BC. This full-time position involves diagnostic work, safety inspections, mentorship of apprentices, and hands-on servicing of complex vehicle systems. Ideal candidates are journeyperson technicians who are safety-driven, mechanically skilled, and eager to support a growing industrial fleet.

- Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician certification or equivalent
- Valid driver’s licence
- Own tools and willingness to acquire additional ones as required
- Red Seal certification (preferred)
- Ability to lift 50–100 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Experience with CNG/diesel engines and diagnostic software
- CVI inspection knowledge and understanding of transportation regulations
- Strong computer literacy and diagnostic system familiarity
- Mentorship experience with apprentices
- Attention to detail and proactive communication skills
- Strong safety awareness and shop maintenance practices
