We are looking for an experienced senior Technology Systems Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team in Toronto. In this key role, you will be called upon to act as a technical lead on large-scale projects, from the definition of needs to commissioning. Reporting to regional Automation Manager, you will also act as the deputy manager. You will play a central role in the development of robust and innovative solutions, while providing technical guidance to the project team members.

You will play a central role in the development of robust and innovative solutions, while providing technical guidance to the project team members.
Your Role Within The Team
To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Assists the Manager Facilities Systems Engineering in leading, managing, and directing team efforts in support of business objectives as it relates to.
- Prioritization and distribution of team member tasks and managing workload.
- Overseeing and coordinating design and compliance reviews and inspections to ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, regulations, and GTAA-specific specifications and requirements, including the Airport Construction Code.
- Ensuring quality reviews are completed on time in coordination with all proposed renovations, alterations, maintenance work and new construction projects and program requirements.
- Providing technical guidance and support to team as needed.
- Collaborates, supports, and provides high level of customer service to the Planning & Engineering, Capital Delivery and Commercial Activation teams, and various key GTAA stakeholders including but not limited to Operations and Maintenance teams.
- Reviews, documents, and improves processes and workflows to eliminate inefficiencies and maximize team performance.
- Develops pilot project(s) with funding proposals for new technologies, methodologies and advancements in technology / control systems design and construction to evaluate viability at Pearson airport to reduce construction duration and operational interruptions.
- Coordinates SME assessments, reviews, and updates of standards and/or specifications.

- Recognized degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or related engineering field.
- Typically, a minimum of 15 years of professional experience in large infrastructure programs in a control systems engineering position including 5 years in a management / leadership position. Aviation experience preferred.
- Demonstrable experience in managing teams and assessing the competency requirements of the team.
- Demonstrable experience in managing senior stakeholder relationships and providing strategic level reporting to enable effective decision making.
- Specific working knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) control systems is required.
- Good knowledge of ACAD, electronic documentation management systems, contract terms and conditions and experience in contract management.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills including the ability to facilitate meeting / workshops with large groups of stakeholders.
- Strong technical capability in all project phases and ability to solve complex problems including by using data analytics to support solution identification.
- Relevant professional designation is considered an asset.
