Job Summary –

We are looking for a seasoned Databricks Architect with GCP expertise who can act as a client-facing Lead Consultant, owning the full lifecycle of solutioning, technical delivery, and advisory. You will be the bridge between business objectives and technical execution—designing modern data architecture on Databricks and leading multi-disciplinary teams to success.

This is not just a technical role, it’s a leadership one. You are expected to guide C-level stakeholders, mentor engineers, and build scalable, production-grade pipelines and platforms.

Key Responsibilities and Skills:

Strategy & Client Leadership

  • Lead architecture discussions with enterprise stakeholders across data strategy, modernization, and platform scaling.

  • Translate business needs into actionable architecture blueprints, leveraging GCP-native services and Databricks Lakehouse principles.

  • Present technical solutions to non-technical audiences and influence roadmap priorities.

Technical Architecture

  • Design and optimize Databricks-based solutions on GCP using Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and MLflow.

  • Architect multi-layered data pipelines (Bronze/Silver/Gold) with best practices in data governance, quality, and cost efficiency.

  • Drive performance tuning, CI/CD for data workflows, and secure access patterns using IAM, service accounts, and Unity Catalog.

Delivery Enablement

  • Lead discovery and assessments (brownfield and greenfield) for client environments.

  • Own solution delivery roadmaps and guide the engineering teams (internal and client-side) through execution.

  • Create reusable patterns, frameworks, and accelerators for rapid onboarding and modernization efforts.

Years of experience needed:

15+ Years in Data Engineering/Architecture, 5+ Years on Databricks, 2+ Years on GCP

Technical Skills:

  • Expert in Databricks: Lakehouse architecture, Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog, Spark optimization, DBX CLI, MLflow

  • Deep knowledge of GCP services: BigQuery, GCS, Dataflow, Composer, IAM, VPCs, and networking security

  • Strong in DataOps/DevOps: Terraform, CI/CD, dbt, GitHub Actions or Cloud Build for GCP

  • Proficient in Python, SQL, and PySpark

  • Strong documentation and consulting skills (solution design docs, decision logs, client-facing walkthroughs)

Nice to Have:

  • Any to Databricks migration experience

  • Hands-on with AI/ML enablement via Feature Store and Model Serving

  • Familiarity with Informatica IDMC, Talend, or legacy ETL platforms

Certifications Needed:

Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, engineering or equivalent degree and experience
