Contract type: Full time

Definity is the parent company to some of Canada’s most long-standing and innovative insurance brands, including Economical Insurance, Sonnet Insurance, Family Insurance Solutions, and Petline Insurance. Our ambition is to be one of Canada’s leading and most innovative property and casualty insurers. We can’t do that without our people, so we embrace and encourage a culture that’s collaborative, ambitious, rewarding, and empowering.
We offer a flexible, hybrid work experience where employees work from the office and virtually depending on the type of work they are doing and who they are working with. Bring your true self and be a part of our journey. It’s better here.
Your Mission (Should You Choose to Accept It)
We’re on the hunt for a Learning Experience Designer who can turn “meh” into “wow.” If you believe that even insurance training can be binge-worthy and that learning is not just informative, but transformative — this might just be your dream gig.
You’ll be the architect behind learning experiences that are smart, sleek, and seriously engaging. From onboarding to upskilling, you’ll help our people grow in ways that are meaningful, memorable, and maybe even a little magical.
What You’ll Be Doing (Besides Having Fun)
Apply now and bring your creativity, curiosity, and can-do spirit to a team that’s all about making learning awesome
Salary range is $58,100 - $106,900
We also take potential into consideration. If you don’t have this exact experience, but you know you have what it takes, be sure to give us more insight through your application and cover letter.
Go ahead and expect a lot — you deserve it, and we’ve got it:

What You’ll Be Doing (Besides Having Fun)
- Designing learning experiences that make people say, “Wait, that was training?”
- Turning complex insurance content into clear, creative, and clickable content.
- Collaborating with SMEs, business leaders, and fellow creatives to bring learning to life.
- Building digital, blended, and experiential learning that actually works.
- Working with audio and video content—from scripting and recording to editing and polishing—because sometimes learning needs a voice (and maybe a soundtrack).
- Using feedback and data to make your work even better (because you’re cool like that).
- Keeping accessibility, inclusion, and innovation at the heart of everything you do.
- 3–5 years of experience in instructional or learning experience design.
- A portfolio that shows off your design chops and creative flair.
- Comfort with tools like Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, and LMS platforms.
- A solid grasp of adult learning theory and a love for learner-first design.
- Bonus points if you’ve worked in insurance or financial services—but curiosity counts more.
- You’ll join a team that’s reimagining learning in an industry that’s ready for change.
- You’ll have the freedom to experiment, innovate, and grow your skills.
- You’ll help shape the future of learning at a company that protects what matters most. Oh, and we’re pretty fun to work with too.
