What Would You Do?

The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for the entering in supplier invoices in a timely manner to ensure prompt payment and to ensure that the financial statements accurately capture expenses for the period, and provide administrative support for the PFG finance team.

The key duties and responsibilities of this position would include, but are not limited to:

  • Timely and accurate entry of supplier invoices into AS400.
  • Proper use of the 3-way match system, ensuring that all invoices with purchase orders are 3-way matched.
  • Following up with the purchasing group to ensure that issues with invoices or purchase orders are rectified in a timely fashion.
  • Work with suppliers directly to rectify issues with payments or invoices.
  • Reconcile statements provided by vendors to internal records.
  • Work with the receiving group to ensure that purchase order receiving’s are entered, and finance notified in a timely manner.
  • Work with various managers and supervisors to ensure appropriate approvals are received for invoices.
  • Prepare month-end accounts payable accruals.
  • Complete intercompany invoicing for various activities.
  • Track and report on a variety of expenses as required.
  • Provide backup for other accounts payable team members.
  • Assist in providing AP and Finance information to the auditors.
  • Assist with month-end tasks as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

What Do You Bring?

  • 3 years of accounts payable experience in a computerized environment.
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or business administration is considered an asset.
  • Proven accuracy of data entry and coding of invoices.
  • Strong organizational skills, math skills, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Excel and Access.
  • Experience working in AS400 is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Professional communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change in a positive manner.

This position requires being present in the office Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM—4:30 PM, 40 hours per week. We have two locations in Winnipeg within two blocks of each other, and the ability to work at both locations will be required.
