About the Opportunity

We are looking for a full-time Director of Information Systems to lead SSI's Business Systems and IT teams in Victoria, BC.


This position will require the candidate to live in Victoria, BC and has the option for a hybrid working arrangement. This position is a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to work with high-performing Agile teams. The combined group of talented individuals the successful candidate will lead, are responsible for the operation, reliability, performance and security of the software, hardware, systems, and processes in use by SSI’s global operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the Information Systems team (combined Business Systems and IT teams) and ensuring that they are properly skilled and equipped
  • Overseeing all aspects of SSI’s information systems, including hardware, software, data storage, and security
  • Developing and maintaining an information technology strategy that aligns with and supports SSI’s business goals
  • Establishing and maintaining a high level roadmap of strategic information systems related efforts for the business
  • Working with the Head of IT and Sr. Business Systems Analyst to build tactical roadmaps that deliver outcomes according to the IS strategic roadmap
  • Working with leaders from other teams to ensure effective communication and delivery of IS services
  • Providing team member coaching around conflict resolution and communication where the team members are unable to resolve conflicts on their own
  • Ensuring the Information Systems team works and acts in alignment with SSI’s key principles
  • Leading initiatives to assess how emerging technologies will impact SSI achieving our business goals


Requirements:

  • 10 years of experience in a technology related field
  • 5 years of experience in a technology related leadership role
  • Minimum of a diploma in a technology related field
  • Preferred is a bachelor’s degree in a technology related field
  • Leadership experience in a team of technology professionals
  • Direct experience with Agile project execution and methodologies


Please note: The successful candidate must either be a Canadian Citizen or hold a valid Canadian Permanent Residency and be willing to work in the SSI office in Victoria, BC full-time.
