The Opportunity
Reporting to the Vice-President, Patient Services and Chief Nursing Executive, the Manager, Access & Flow, Ambulatory Care is a key leadership role responsible for coordinating patient flow, ambulatory care clinics, and cardiorespiratory services. This role plays a critical part in optimizing patient transitions, ensuring timely access to outpatient care, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality cardiorespiratory services. The successful candidate will be an innovative leader, collaborative problem solver and will possess a passion for enhancing the patient experience across the continuum of care.
Duties And Responsibilities
Location: Collingwood General and Marine Hospital
Employment Type: Temporary Full Time – 18 months
Start Date: In line with next Hospital Orientation intake
Hours of Work: Days, Participation in Leader on Call rotation
Wage: $117,689.81 – $139,778.57 per annum

Duties And Responsibilities
- Models the core values of Collingwood General and Marine Hospital.
- Oversees daily bed meeting, hospital surge initiatives, repatriation planning and evaluation, capacity assessment, and the administration of relevant policies and procedures.
- Works collaboratively with all Patient Services Leaders to manage patient flow and ensure operational efficiency.
- Monitors and assesses the delivery of interprofessional team care, utilizing effective communication to strengthen patients' and families' health and social networks, build partnerships, and address barriers at both the client and system levels.
- Ensures the effective operation of Ambulatory Care Clinics and the delivery of clinical services that result in safe, high-quality patient care and outcomes.
- Oversees the day-to-day inpatient and outpatient operations of the Cardiorespiratory Department.
- Tracks and follows up on standards related to quality registration, customer service, financial clearance, and employee performance in the Registration function.
- Oversees responsibilities related to the daily workflow of patient registration.
- Membership in good standing with a regulated health professional college in the province of Ontario.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BScN), or Allied Health Discipline, Masters preparation an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting, previous leadership experience an asset.
- Previous experience managing or optimizing patient flow across inpatient, outpatient, or emergency settings.
- Demonstrated experience in budget development, fiscal planning, and financial management, with a proven ability to monitor and control expenditures in line with organizational goals and priorities.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Demonstrated experience leading or supporting change management initiatives within a healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise and sound decision-making in complex care environments
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and support interdisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to foster collaboration and resolve conflict effectively
- Proven ability to manage patient flow, coordinate transitions of care, and optimize system efficiency
- Skilled in resource and workload management, including staffing, scheduling, and supply oversight
- Experience with quality improvement, patient safety, and risk mitigation initiatives
- Familiarity with relevant legislation, professional standards, and regulatory requirements
- Commitment to equity, cultural safety, and inclusive care, particularly in partnership with Indigenous and equity-deserving populations
- High level of organizational and analytical skills to track performance metrics and drive service improvements
- Resilient, adaptable, and capable of leading through change in a fast-paced healthcare environment
