About the Opportunity
The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable primarily as provider, coordinator, leader and advocate of quality patient-centered care. The RN utilizes assessment, problem identification, learning potential, coaching, teaching and education skills to assist patients to manage actual and/or potential health problems arising from responses to their health-illness experience.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing and current Registration (or eligibility) and Licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
- Current and relevant clinical experience in Women's and Children's Health nursing; Labor and Delivery experience is required.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
- Breastfeeding knowledge and courses required (i.e. Making a Difference training or Step 2) required.
- Experience with Baby Friendly Initiative Standards required.
- Where there are no applicants who meet the above qualifications, consideration may be given to applicants who agree to complete further training within one year of hire date.
- Knowledge and demonstrated competency in Maternal-Child Nursing.
- Minimum 1-year acute care experience is an asset.
- Commitment to complete current competencies within the Maternal-Child Program.
- BLS-C (Basic Life Support - C).
- Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Hours
- Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits
$40.55 - $49.99 Hourly
$51.74 Hourly with 25 years' nursing experience
