Technical Lead, Cyber Security Intake Governance & Assessments, Brampton, ON

Loblaw Companies Limited is seeking an experienced and strategic Technical Lead – Cybersecurity Intake Governance & Assessments to join our growing Cybersecurity team. This individual will lead and evolve our security intake and risk triage program, ensuring robust and consistent integration of security throughout the lifecycle of new technology initiatives, vendor engagements, and business projects.

This role is ideal for a technically proficient, business-savvy leader who is passionate about security governance, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, manage, and optimize the Cybersecurity Intake and Triage process across the enterprise.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for evaluating security impact of new requests from IT, Architecture, Business, Legal, and Procurement teams.
  • Triage and prioritize intake items based on data sensitivity, system criticality, and risk level.
  • Maintain intake criteria, decision models, workflows, and knowledge bases to support scalable and consistent processing.
  • Promote secure-by-design principles by engaging early in the solution lifecycle.
  • Ensure all intake documentation and tools (e.g., ServiceNow GRC, JIRA) are accurate, current, and continuously improved.
  • Lead or support risk triage of new applications, SaaS products, infrastructure changes, and third-party tools. Assess threat models, data classifications, and control requirements.
  • Collaborate with Security Architecture, Privacy, Legal, and Cloud teams to recommend risk-aligned security measures. Partner with stakeholders across Technology, Risk, Legal, and Business to drive awareness and integration of the intake process.
  • Represent Cybersecurity in solution design discussions, architecture councils, and project boards. Contribute to leadership reporting, KPIs, and intake process metrics.

What You Bring:

  • Strong experience in Cybersecurity, Governance, Risk Management, or Security Architecture.
  • Proven success managing or co-leading security intake and triage processes at scale.
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
  • Hands-on experience with intake or GRC platforms (e.g., ServiceNow GRC, RSA Archer).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or CCSP.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and cloud-native security tools.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, retail, or healthcare.
  • Understanding of finances and third-party risk.
