The Director, Clinical Engineering Centre of Expertise is a key leadership role in the Capital Management (CM) portfolio and reports directly to the Senior Program Officer, Capital Operations and Government Integration (COGI). This position is responsible and accountable for ensuring provincial standards are established and maintained for Clinical Engineering (CE) throughout the province. This position will assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of the CE programs and services in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services (AHS). These activities include the integration of various resources to carry out these activities. The position is also responsible and accountable for making key decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for establishing and contributing to the achievement of the provincial goals of the CE program. This position works closely with zone CM and CE leadership to ensure zone initiatives align with provincial goals and objectives; and is also responsible for: Contributing to the development of CE department goals and business plans to ensure they are supportive of and in compliance with the delivery of quality and sustainable health systems. Providing leadership to the CE team, responsibility for the overall life cycle maintenance of medical systems and devices within their jurisdiction. Establishing and maintaining key relationships with AHS medical, clinical and other department leaders, vendors and manufactures. Developing, monitoring, and implementing standards of practice to meet all regulatory requirements for supporting medical devices. Providing input to the diverse sourcing services for the infrastructure projects, equipment acquisition programs, service agreements. Managing the eFacilities Admin Queue and user support, as well as Chair of the eFacilities Working Group.
