Position summary

Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Process Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and vendors to develop process designs, manage project timelines, and ensure successful project outcomes. This role combines technical expertise in food process engineering with the responsibility for overseeing projects from conception to completion, ensuring that all phases of design, execution, and commissioning are delivered on-time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.


Process engineering component

  • Conduct site visits to assess project scope, gather design data, and address operational challenges.
  • Develop process designs and equipment specifications to meet client requirements.
  • Prepare cost estimates and quotations for process design and equipment installations.
  • Design and develop P&IDs, layouts, and other technical drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to select equipment and materials.
  • Support installation crews and automation technicians during commissioning and project execution.
  • Provide troubleshooting and operational support during commissioning and ongoing process optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications for food processing systems.
  • Perform all other related tasks.


Project Management component

  • Lead the development of project scopes, objectives, and detailed plans, ensuring alignment with client needs.
  • Manage all phases of project delivery, including resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Coordinate internal resources (engineering teams, installation crews, etc.) and third-party contractors/vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee risk management processes to minimize project risks and ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, risk assessments, and progress reports.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative environment for team growth.

Academic requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical engineering (P.Eng. designation preferred).


Required profile

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in process design, ideally within the food & beverage or chemical processing industries.
  • Proven experience in project management, including expertise in budgeting, team management with RACI, scheduling with Gantt, cost control, risk management, and delivering complex projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge in food processing systems, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, mass & energy balances, and mechanical design principles.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, P&ID development, and layout design.
  • Experience with PLCs, control systems, and automation. (Asset)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
  • Able to travel in Canada and US (50-60%).
