Sinai Health is looking for a Senior Project Lead to support our Health Common Solutions Lab (HCSL).

We work with partners to create or highlight local solutions and help them scale, turning pilot programs into system-wide improvements. We ensure successful innovations can grow and have a lasting impact, while highlighting community-driven tailored solutions and best practices.

HCSL is seeking an experienced Senior Project Lead to support initiatives within Health Commons Solutions Lab, an entity supported by Sinai Health, Ontario Health Toronto Region and other key partners and funders. Health Commons identifies creative solutions to complex multidisciplinary problems which include the broader health and social sectors. They bring together experts to innovate new solutions, then to work with service providers and funders to implement those solutions.

Working closely with Health Common’s senior management and staff, the Senior Project Lead will lead the design, planning, and implementation of health system initiatives that address the needs of priority populations. Key areas of focus for the Lead include: managing project teams to achieve outcomes within assigned projects, overall direction and responsibility for product development, and building and maintaining positive relationships with health and social system partners.



In This Role You Will

  • Play a leadership role in all phases of assigned projects, including initial scoping, design, planning, implementation and evaluation
  • Oversee and advance assigned projects to achieve key milestones and targets
  • Serve as operational liaison with partners for direct and in-kind project support
  • Support execution of project plans including staffing, communications, engagement and reporting
  • Lead project teams comprised of internal and external staff from partner organizations
  • Monitor and report on project status to senior staff and funders
  • Develop and execute communications and engagement strategies with key project partners and stakeholders
  • Serve as the Lab’s key liaison with subject-matter experts in partner organizations
  • Act as a key liaison between Health Commons and system partners including Ontario Health, Ontario Health Teams and others on joint priorities
  • Advance the relationship with partners to better integrate public health perspectives in population health planning within Ontario Health Teams
  • Establish working relationships across a broad range of service partners and community leaders
  • Design and conduct community engagements to support co-design of solutions with populations that have been marginalized and underrepresented communities
  • Promote capacity building and shared learning between community and service partners
  • Serve as a positive ambassador for Health Commons and it’s work with diverse communities
  • Perform other duties related to the job classification, as required

Job Requirements

Mandatory

  • Successful completion of a Master’s degree (MHSc or related field) from an accredited educational institution
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in public health, and/or community development, and/or health promotion, evaluation and/or health surveillance

Skills and Knowledge

  • Expertise in local health issues, priorities and needs while recognizing the broader trends in health care policy and system development
  • Experience in either epidemiology-based planning approaches, and/or health promotion and/or health system planning and/or community health sector
  • Clear grasp of the social determinants of health and health equity applications
  • Strong understanding of the priorities of multiple organizations, community and health service providers, and the proven ability to network and bring partners together
  • Strong focus on and experience with stakeholder engagement with health funders, planners and service providers
  • Excellent relationship building skills; professional, diplomatic and confident with a proven ability to work with individuals across all levels of the organization and external stakeholders
  • Model collaborative, cross-portfolio engagement to build consensus and create solutions to complex issues
  • Flexible and self-directed with the ability to manage competing priorities, rapid change and transition with constantly shifting priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to clearly define and articulate requirements, priorities, impacts, and solutions
  • Possesses a high level of accountability and proven capability to identify opportunities, take initiative and think through implications on end-users and target populations
  • Proven consultation, negotiation and consensus building skills with the ability to proactively problem-solve complex issues with a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to facilitate group discussions, develop and deliver training and make presentations
  • Creative, analytical, detail-oriented with solid project management skills
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Office
  • Knowledge of grant applications, legal research partnerships and intellectual property
