Join us as Director, Equipment Procurement, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of equipment strategy across our retail banners. In this leadership position, you’ll drive innovation, optimize equipment selection, and ensure compliance while fostering a culture of development and excellence.

Here’s Where You’ll Be Focusing

  • Foster a coaching and development culture for all employees.
  • Lead direct reports, including selection, orientation, training, performance management, succession planning, and compensation.
  • Manage equipment expenditures for capital projects and replenishment, ensuring cost-effective and strategic investments.
  • Provide equipment budgeting and scope of work for installations
  • Oversee national vendor relationships and drive standardization of equipment selection where possible.
  • Participate in project planning with Design and Construction teams, ensuring CSA-approved equipment and compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Lead equipment innovation through selection, testing, and financial analysis, collaborating with internal stakeholders.
  • Visit new vendors and provide recommendations to mitigate cost impacts, as required.

What You Have To Offer

  • An Undergraduate Degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent expertise.
  • Familiarity with refrigeration systems, automation systems, and construction practices.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, financial planning, and project management to ensure efficient resource allocation and execution.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of automation systems.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in cross-functional environments.
  • Bilingual in English and French is a strong asset as the candidate will be expected to work closely with peers in other provinces in planning, developing and implementing processes and participating in key national strategic projects. The chosen candidate will also have to supervise team members in different regions across the country.
