The Senior Global Market Development Manager - Pharma will define and prioritize the marketing strategy for the Pharma market, driving all aspects of our SCIEX Pharma business. This includes defining markets, identifying market problems, conducting Voice of Customer (VOC) research, analyzing the competitive landscape, and identifying new market opportunities. This remote position is part of the Global Strategic Marketing Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Analysis: Identify key growth opportunities and strategic initiatives within the Pharma markets. Define market size, identify market problems, and conduct regular VOC research to understand customer needs. Define customer personas for Pharma markets and provide insights to stakeholders for new product development and existing solutions. Identify and cultivate thought leaders.
  • Organizational Insight: Build a comprehensive understanding of market trends, customer needs, buying personas, competitive activity, key applications, and workflows. Translate this understanding into a knowledge base accessible to stakeholders across the organization for strategy, innovation, and marketing purposes. Provide market-specific training content and key account support. Liaise with regional marketing teams to gather customer feedback and drive business growth.
  • Competitive Landscape: Explore the customer ecosystem and competitive landscape. Translate and define requirements for Pharma workflows, including developing value propositions, value matrices, and key marketing messaging.
  • Customer Advocacy: Advocate for a customer needs-driven perspective on portfolio direction and innovation projects. Drive key ideation events (P2P, IRL), persona/positioning development, and actively influence roadmap development. Ensure critical support for innovation execution (incubation, toll gates, launch).
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor business results to track key revenue metrics within the market. Develop action plans and countermeasures to address shortfalls.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological or Chemistry or Chemical Science
  • 5+ demonstrated experience in Pharma industry, in marketing, business administration, or a related field.
  • A proven background in life sciences marketing, sales, and/or technical roles.
  • Deep understanding of Pharma analytical workflows.
  • Broad understanding of mass spectrometry and/or capillary electrophoresis technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD preferred.
  • [[}} ranslating market knowledge into business strategies.
  • Experience working in a global environment and in a matrix-managed organization.
  • Experience collecting and distilling market research and VOC into meaningful strategic direction.

The salary range for this role is $135,000 - $150,000 USD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
