Your Day To Day

Responsible for the Company’s legal entity accounting and local reporting, and the preparation of balance sheet and cashflow forecast, with a strong focus on leading and supporting finance activities and analysis in relation to Canada Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) plan.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support on the financial analysis and reporting post-CCAA protection, as defined in the CCAA plan, including cash flow forecasts, 5-year financial forecasts, legal entity financial statements reporting, and variances against forecasts.
  • In depth knowledge of Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow, and prepare full financial statements forecast modelling in excel
  • Good understanding of business dynamics and explain how they impact the financial statements and modelling
  • Support settlement accounting post-CCAA (RBH share of the global settlement of over C$30 bio) by ensuring the calculations align with the CCAA plan, and instruct shared service centers to prepare all accounting entries accurately and promptly
  • Coordinate with external auditor to ensure financial audits meet PMI and local requirements, including those specified in the CCAA plan
  • Oversee the preparation of working capital and balance sheet forecasts, analyze variances, and ensure timely submissions to PMI
  • Liaise with various functions across the organization to challenge business assumptions and explanations on variances
  • Analyze and interpret business performance through the lens of working capital and cash flow, identifying material issues that may not be detected in other monitoring processes
  • Advise on accounting related topics for new business initiatives
  • Oversee and prepare local regulatory reporting, ensuring timely submission

Education

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or relating discipline
  • Accounting designation

Work Experience

  • 7+years of relevant experience in similar positions
  • 2+years of people management experience

Other Skills/function-specific

  • Strong financial literacy and analytical
  • Good excel financial modeling skill, SAP and global financial & reporting systems knowledge an asset
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and concepts
  • Excellent people management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization and external stakeholders
  • Resourceful workstyle, keen to identify root causes and solutions
  • Flexible and composed under pressure, quickly adapting to changing business environment
