Position Summary:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the general direction of the Assistant General Manager, River Rock Casino Resort, this position is responsible for the overall management and profitability of the Hotel Sales operation while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees. Responsible for creating and maintaining a sales budget, developing the sales team to achieve targets and marketing the property per the marketing initiatives. Develops performance objectives and delivers performance evaluations for direct reports; spearheads and implements all new sales initiatives in conjunction with marketing; motivates and leads by example; provides a learning environment and actively participates in the recruitment and hiring process.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the sales team while establishing performance objectives and conducting evaluations.
- Develop annual sales targets and strategies to drive growth.
- Build and maintain strong guest/client relationships to expand market share.
- Identify, solicit, and secure new and repeat business through various channels, including telemarketing, mail campaigns, on-site visits, referrals, and trade shows.
- Maximize revenue opportunities by enhancing room sales, food and beverage services, and other revenue streams.
- Forecast both short- and long-term sales trends to support business planning.
- Manage and oversee rate strategies to maintain competitiveness.
- Negotiate corporate, group, and individual travel pricing.
- Participate in trade shows and industry events, presenting new concepts to senior management.
- Provide sales expertise to internal and external stakeholders.
- Review and approve all sales-related purchase orders (POs) and invoices, ensuring timely submission to accounting.
- Maintain effective communication with operational departments to support seamless service delivery.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including guests, ownership, and employees.
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and other statutory requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
Education And Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in hospitality or hotel management or a suitable combination of education and experience
- Minimum 7 years of progressive sales experience
- Post Secondary hospitality or hotel education or a suitable combination of education and experience
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through leading by example and by providing timely, effective and service-oriented communication (written/verbal) and support
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Highly organized, goal-oriented, and results-driven with strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to act with considerable independence, discretion and judgement
