Job Description
The Territory Manager is responsible for sourcing new sales opportunities and closing sales to achieve quotas, they will play a key role in increasing income and revenue by managing and negotiating with customers, generating leads, qualifying prospects, and managing sales of products and services.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Focus on day-to-day PPE sales (ie. Glasses, hard hats, gloves, etc); Heavy focus on gas detection and SCBA sales and service aspects.
- Follow up on all quotes provided to your customers.
- Travel within sales territory to meet prospects and existing customers. Maintain records of all sales leads and/or customer accounts and update client information in the company contact database (CRM).
- Generate sales reports each week and submit them to management.
- Utilize all available resources to reach out to prospects and attempt to turn those prospects into customers.
- Collaborate with the management team to improve marketing materials and expand the company’s marketing presence in the territory.
- Monitor the company’s industry competitors, new products, and market conditions to understand a customer’s specific needs.
- Attend industry trade shows to accumulate new leads and make productive contact with existing clients.
- Stay on top of industry trends to identify potential opportunities for company growth. Maintain product knowledge up-to-date.
Work Conditions
- Workweeks are typically 5 days, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. (schedules will vary but it is expected that an outside sales representative will work a minimum of 40 hours/week).
- Conditions vary depending on the your customer needs. You will work closely with the Branch to determine where and when you are required to be present, otherwise you will manage your time and location of work accordingly.
- Occasional overnight trips to be made.
- Dress code must be adhered to when meeting with clients
Qualifications For This Position
- Professional and courteous demeanor;
- 3-5 years experience with safety products; service experience with SCBAs and gas detection is an asset
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Computer experience and understanding of spreadsheet software
- Patience and ability to tactfully handle customer negotiations
- Self-motivated and comfortable working with little to no supervision
- Have a flair for selling and building relationships with individuals and organizations
- Fluent in reading, writing and speaking French; good knowledge of English.
