Mechanics - Fort McMurray (Local) - #448477

Transdev is now hiring LOCAL Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician or Truck and Transport Technician (Journeyman) for our Creeburn Shop in Fort McMurray, Alberta location!

We are seeking permanent, full-time mechanics. We are also offering a competitive hourly rate starting at $52.06/hr (Plus a $4/hr premium for all regular hours!).

Your Role

• Lead preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Handle routine repairs, including oil and tire changes, and write detailed inspection reports and repair plans.
• Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under minimal supervision, including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, and transmission clutches.
• Use computer diagnostic equipment to diagnose faults or malfunctions and adjust or replace parts using hand and power tools.
• Overhaul engines and work on power shift transmissions, fuel injection, hydraulics, and electronics.
• Lead road calls and emergency services as necessary.
• Move vehicles safely between job and work areas and perform test drives to ensure proper performance.
• Ensure work orders are completed accurately and maintain records of all maintenance work.
• Notify supervisors of dangerous equipment and corrective actions taken, and report major safety observations.
• Train staff as required and assist with toolbox meetings.
• Adhere to Transdev's standards, policies and procedures.
• Perform other responsibilities as requested or required.

Your Profile

• Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician or Truck and Transport Journeyman certification.
• You have a Class 5 (AB) Drivers License with air endorsement (crucial).
• You have a CVIP Inspection certificate in Alberta.
• You have an appropriate mechanic’s tool set.
• You have advanced problem-solving ability.
• You have advanced computer skills.
• You are able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• You are able to work assigned shifts.
• You must have experience with Diesel Vehicles.
  
  

Your Location:

• This is a unionized position near Fort McMurray, Alberta.
• The work schedule 14 days On, 14 days Off. 12hr/day
• Camp accommodations are provided; however, travel expenses are not reimbursed.
