Position Information

The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) is responsible for the improvement of clinical outcomes for related patient populations through the effective application of advanced nursing practices, expanded or enhanced scope of practice, program planning and delivery, consultation, research, education, efficient resource utilization, and effective leadership.

This position is temporary until approximately until January 31 2026.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts.

What You Will Bring

  • Certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Member of the RNAO;
  • Master's preparation in nursing or master's degree in a related discipline with an undergraduate degree in nursing;
  • Minimum of three (3) years recent related clinical and leadership experience, including experience working in inpatient settings;
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and expertise caring for individuals with acute pain and complex pain and also within the realm of substance use disorders;
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skill and judgment related to self-management support for individuals living with complex pain and transitioning back to community;
  • Recent experience, demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in adult education, program development and evaluation;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill related to utilizing, undertaking and disseminating research;
  • Strong leadership skills, evidence of ability to perform roles requiring progressive leadership and responsibilities;
  • Advanced knowledge of the consultation process as it relates to individuals, groups and/or organizations;
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and decision making skills;
  • Knowledge of computers including MS Office, data management programs, etc;
  • Expert communication skills both verbally and in writing;
  • Expert interdisciplinary collaboration skills;
  • Knowledge of the regional health care system in the area of pain.


You will stand out with:

  • Previous experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse, Nurse Educator or Manager;
  • Proficiency in English and French oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
