Role Overview
Reporting to the Distribution Manager, the Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, order fulfillment, and adherence to safety and productivity standards. This role involves leading and developing a team of warehouse associates to optimize workflow and achieve operational goals.
You will work closely with warehouse staff, logistics teams, and other departments to streamline processes, meet distribution targets, and maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency. You take a hands-on approach to problem-solving and process improvement, ensuring that daily operations run smoothly while upholding safety and quality standards.
Your expertise in team leadership, process optimization, and issue resolution will be essential for success in this role. Experience in training, mentoring, and developing warehouse teams, along with a commitment to operational excellence and customer experience is key to success in this role.

Skills & Experience Required
- Warehouse Management Systems (WMS): Experience with WMS software to streamline warehouse operations, track inventory, and manage workflows.
- Logistics Coordination: Ability to manage the transportation and distribution of goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Safety Compliance: Knowledge of safety regulations and the implementation of protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
- Leadership and Team Management: Capability to lead, motivate, and manage warehouse staff, fostering a productive team environment.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication with team members, management, and external partners to ensure smooth operations.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Aptitude for identifying issues promptly and implementing effective solutions.
- Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to adjust to changing circumstances and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Time Management and Organizational Skills: Skill in prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Conflict Resolution and Negotiation: Competence in addressing and resolving workplace conflicts amicably.
- Execute and lead daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and shipping of goods.
- Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with inventory control teams to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Ensure all warehouse activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Identify and implement warehouse processes to enhance workflow and efficiency.
- Coordinate with logistics, transportation, and procurement teams to meet distribution goals.
- Address and resolve any operational issues, including delays, discrepancies, or damaged goods.
- Track and report key performance metrics such as order accuracy, shipping times, and productivity.
- Enforce proper handling of materials and equipment to minimize damage and loss.
- Other duties as assigned.
- At least 3 years of experience in warehouse management, with a demonstrated ability to manage and train a team of warehouse staff.
- Experience operating Warehouse Material Handling Equipment (forklift/order picker/reach truck), carrying a valid forklift certification for that equipment would be an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with other departments and external partners.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficient in the use of warehouse management software and other relevant technology.
