Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fleet Mechanic to join our team, specializing in the maintenance and repair of our fleet of vehicles and ambulances. The Fleet Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles and ambulances are in optimal working condition to guarantee safety and reliability. The role requires expertise in diagnosing mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and executing repairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all vehicles and ambulances are in optimal working conditions to guarantee safety and reliability
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
  • Diagnose and repair issues ranging from electrical to mechanical
  • Handle all diagnostic and emission repairs
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC issues
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Ensure all equipment repairs are completed
  • Perform the monthly vehicle safety checklists
  • Manage inventory, resources, and always plan ahead
  • Handle vehicle logistics (towing, breakdowns, flats, ect)
  • Ensure successful DOT/TLC inspections
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed
  • Ensure all documents and noted maintenance needs are communicated to management
  • Coordinate with emergency medical services (EMS) teams to ensure fleet readiness
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience
  • Must be able to use your own tools
  • Brakes certified
  • A/C certified (If you do not have this, you must be willing to obtain within 6 months)
  • Valid Driver’s License (minimum of 2 years) with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to successfully work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with diesel engine repair (preferred, but not required)
  • ASE certification is (preferred, but not required)
  • Ambulance / Ambulette experience (preferred, but not required)
  • Welding experience (preferred, but not required)
